BLOG TOUR: Kiss Me Again by Emma Hart

https://amzn.to/33YaDZH
WANTED: ROOMMATE. Must be tidy, polite, and absolutely not my brother's hot as sin best friend.

I have no idea why I said yes.

Maybe I'd had one too many wines. Maybe I'd done it accidentally. Maybe I'd been sleep-texting.

One thing I know for sure is this: I absolutely do not want Ethan Hawkins in my apartment, up in my business, taking over my space.

Yet he's here. Moving his stuff into my spare bedroom. Sending a wave of panty-melting, musky man-scent my way every time he walks past me.

Here's the thing.

We don't get along--at all. We never have, and I don't think we're going to start now that we're under one roof.

There's also that little issue where I'm kinda, sorta, totally in love with him...

Uh-oh.

Emma Hart is, undisputedly, the queen of sass. Her heroines are unashamedly sarcastic, sassy and a little bit weird - while her heroes are sexy, kind and 100% get behind their girls’ quirks. And as you can guess, this story is no different.

Kiss Me Again is the third (and final?) book in the Kiss Me series (after Kiss Me Not and Kiss Me Tonight) featuring a trio of best friends and their journey to happily ever after. (I wouldn’t mind reading Leo’s story, if it’s in the works!) While each book does stand alone, we have been teased about Ethan and Ava’s relationship since the first book. And there are several things that might be confusing (or at the very least not as funny) if you haven’t read the first couple of books - things like Boris the raccoon and the flashing granny, for example!

We meet Ava on the day that Ethan’s moving into her apartment. As I mentioned, she’s got a mouth on her…and she’s also on her period! That was a lot and it took me a couple of chapters to not feel that she was unnecessarily mean! It’s not that I didn’t identify with her - I probably identified with her too much. She’s open and honest about who she is - and doesn’t care what others think about her. She’s who I would probably be if I wasn’t scared that people would come for me if I was always saying what I was thinking!

After those first couple of chapters, the book - and Ava and Ethan’s relationship - really comes into its own. The roommate wars is clever and hilarious. It also allows our couple to bicker and fight but still enjoy each other’s company. It was amusing that all their friends, and we as readers, can see through the whole ‘we hate each other’ schtick! I laughed with pity every time one of them would try to convince someone else of their dislike!

The progression of the relationship was fun and I did get those little butterflies in my stomach when they inevitably gave in and kissed. Sigh. However other than that kiss, it’s not until the end that we get any proper mattress bouncing. That’s not a complaint - just an observation, by the way!

I’m going to be honest and admit that I was toying between 4 and 5 stars for this book. I finally settled on 5 as, although there were one or two things that slightly irked me, they didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the book or the love story overall. Plus, I love Emma Hart and her writing. Her books leave me with that happy, content feeling. She’s like chocolate - I just want to feast on her stories and yet I still always want more and more and more!

If you’re a fan of Emma Hart, or just need a fast paced, cute and quirky romance to make you feel good, then I would recommend this book to you. 5 stars for another great book.

BLOG TOUR: Kiss Me Tonight by Emma Hart

https://amzn.to/2nx7Qqd

What do a wrong number text, a burning building, and a quirky florist have in common?
A hunky firefighter with an extra-large…hosepipe.

In hindsight, I never should have opened that text message. The last thing I needed first thing on a Monday was a picture of some stranger’s, um, eggplant, in my inbox.

I also should have replaced the batteries in my fire alarm, because my Friday night did not need to end with my apartment building going up in flames.

But it’s fine. It’s fine. Everything is fine.

I’m only lying in a hospital bed with more split ends than I’ve ever had, almost all my Earthly possessions have turned to ash, and apparently, they don’t serve wine to patients in this place.

But like I said, it’s fine.

Until he walks in.

The guy who saved my life. My hero. Noah Jacobs.

And the universe is amusing itself at my expense, because the dirty photo I woke up to on Monday?

It’s his.

Emma Hart has become a staple author of mine - and a definite auto-buy. This book does nothing but place her higher on that pedestal.

This is the second book in the Kiss Me series. If you’ve not read the first in the series - Kiss Me Not - then you might be a tad confused with the references to the friends, family and racoons that we met in that book - but this book definitely does stand alone. But once you start with this book, you definitely won’t want to stop.

I really enjoyed Kiss Me Not. But this book knocked my socks off. I just bloody loved it.

It's the story of Reagan and Noah - and the unbelievably hilarious and bizarre set of circumstances that lead to their meeting and ultimately falling in love. It starts off with a, well, rather suggestive image sent to a wrong number that happens to be Reagan's number. I was sceptical about whether I would be happy with a hero that sent such an image to a woman (suspecting or not!) - but our poor Noah was just drunk, lonely and horny so of course I forgave him. And it didn’t hurt that he’s a six-foot plus, built fireman with tatted arms for days, a rescue chihuahua (shout out to the panty stealing Poosh!) and that he’s a gentleman and a sweetheart. With a naughty side too, of course. Well, I suppose we could see that from the pic! *fans self*

Reagan is the kind of girl I wish I was. She’s sassy, sarcastic and barrels right through life and doesn’t let anything stand in her way or get her down. I loved her. The fact that Noah had her a little flustered and a little discombobulated made it clear that the couple were made for each other. They were a delight with each other - laughing and teasing in a way that showed they really understood each other. The fact that I was laughing out loud along with them was just the icing on the cake.

This story didn’t follow the typical pattern of there being some large conflict to overcome on the way to the happily ever after. Instead, it’s more of a story of how they met, how they became friends, how they became more than friends and then how they fell in love. Not having any large stumbling block to their happily ever after didn’t take anything away from the story and it was a book I found myself constantly reaching for and wanting to read more. Even now I’ve finished it, I want to keep reading - I loved these character so much!

As always, Ms Hart writes a funny, sassy, hilarious romance that’s bound to leave you with a smile on your face. Up next is Kiss Me Again which will focus on Ava and Ethan. I can't wait to get back to this group of friends. These gals are #friendshipgoals - and add in their hunky men and it’s even better. The fact that I’m getting a love story to boot and I’m a happy reader! 5 massive stars for this one - I loved it.

BLOG TOUR: Kiss Me Not by Emma Hart

Let me make this clear right here, right now: I, Halley Dawson, do not care that Preston Wright is kissing other women.

Not a lick. Not at all. Nuh-uh-freakin’-uh.

I do care that he’s doing it six feet away from me behind a gaudy velvet curtain—making him my competition in this year’s kissing contest.

Why do I care, you ask? Because I’ve had an unfortunate crush on the insufferable idiot since I was sixteen years old, but I also know it’s never going to happen.

He’s the Creek Falls bachelor to die for, and I’m the Creek Falls racoon lady who puts peanut butter sandwiches out for them every night.

I’m not going to let him break my four-year-long reign—no matter how many times he breaks the rules and slides the curtain across to do the one thing he’s not allowed to:

Kiss me.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Emma Hart is one of my go-to authors for a book you want to dive right into and live right there in the world she creates. There’s something so comforting and joyful about the stories she creates. And her characters are both hilarious (and more often than not sarcastic and sassy) but at the same time real enough to truly relate to and love. While I would say this book is more gentle than others I have read of hers, this is still an Emma Hart classic and will delight her fans and new readers alike.

This is the first book in the new Kiss Me series which will focus on the three best friends of Halley (like the comet), Reagan and Ava. Reagan’s book comes next (and by the end of this book you’ll be as eager for that one as I am) but Halley’s own story is wrapped up nicely in this book.

Halley is such an interesting character. She’s the sassy, smart-mouthed, argumentative librarian type who with her matching red glasses and lipstick, gave me the impression of something of a 50s bombshell. Not that she sees herself that way. And that’s why I ultimately liked her. She’s a bit quirky (but aren’t we all?) but I enjoyed the fact that she wasn’t as confident as she presented. It made for a relatable and likeable heroine. Even if she sometimes needed to tone down the competitive nature! But that’s probably because I got the cringe as I too am ridiculously competitive.

Preston was a laid back, cool as a cucumber kinda guy and while he’s maybe not my ideal man - he made the perfect hero for Halley, balancing out her quirky weirdness with, well, probably some weirdness of his own.

I love the best friend’s brother trope and I wasn’t disappointed. As I mentioned earlier, this was more of a gentle, slow-burn kind of romance with only kissing being done until the second to last chapter (which really was a first epilogue before the real one). It’s testament to Ms Hart’s writing that I still gave this book 5-stars because everyone knows I love my sexy shenanigans in a novel - the more the better! But Ms Hart’s writing is so fresh and interesting that you just get stuck into the story and the pages keep turning. There’s plenty of laugh out loud moments, quips, banter and enough salty language to make my inner sailor very happy.

This whole book was a great start to the series for me. I can’t wait to read Reagan’s (Kiss Me Tonight) and Ava’s story’s (Kiss Me Again). But for this particular story, it was a fun, quirky and interesting story that made me smile. I hope everyone will enjoy it as much as I did. 5 stars.
