About

My name is Jo and I read romance.

As a child I devoured any and all books I could get my hands on and I loved every single page. I remember being taken to Beatrix Potter World as a child which is when my dream of becoming a writer first entered my head.

It stayed there - as constant as the books in my hand - until my early teens. That was when my love affair with books hit a stumbling block.

This was the 90s and at that time, there wasn’t a lot of choice of books for teenagers. So for a few years I didn’t read a thing. Much to my chagrin.

And then my mum offered me a Johanna Lindsay novel to read. I read it and…well, I hated it.

Another couple of months passed until my mum suggested another Johanna Lindsay - according to her, my first choice had been less than stellar! Understatement. This time I loved it and a torrid affair with books - romances this time - was born.

Which brings me to today.

My dream of being a writer is still in my head but in the meantime I combine my two loves by writing about the romance books that I read.

Having started my romance reading with a bad choice - and having that one mistake nearly derail my whole reading life - I love to share with people why I love (or even don’t love) the books that I read. I prefer historical romances set in Regency England and contemporary romances set in the United States. I love a Harlequin Blaze, sometimes go for erotica and even sometimes go for a little sci-fi romance.

In my life away from books, I work to keep my little dog and myself all comfy and cosy in our little home. I like to potter in the garden, play on the internet, bake pies (and unfortunately eat them) and go walking.

I hope you find a book worth picking up while on my little place on the web.
